4/14 Started service. 5/16 Called in for a repair. 4/25 Service tech sent to my home. He was there less than 5 minutes and looked at my furnace. Quote came back that it would cost me over $2000, for a new flue, ductwork, etc. I asked how he knew I needed a flue when he never went near the chimney. 4/30 AHS sent another company out. I never heard back from them. 5/16 I called, requested a full refund and then was told I could use my own company and that I would be refunded the $100 I had paid for their service call. 5/21I sent them invoices. I called several times to check on everything, never received a callback.
home warranty companies for appliances
A home warranty company will pay for the cost to repair or replace the system or appliance, as long as it has broken down from normal wear and tear. If the system or appliance failed because it wasn’t maintained the water heater was not flushed or the fridge’s evaporative coils were not cleaned, most home warranty contracts will not cover the cost to repair or replace it. Home warranties exist to repair or replace old worn out systems that have been properly cared for by the homeowner. Buyers should read the home warranty contract carefully to understand coverages, limitations, and exclusions. Most home warranty contracts will state that repairs and replacements will not be covered if the problem was known prior to the date of coverage. This is sometimes referred to as a known condition.
